Symptoms

The following error occurs when you try to delete a metric that is still associated with one or more experiments:

One or more experiments are using this metric. To delete this metric, remove it from all experiments.

Cause

You can't delete a metric that is associated with an experiment. 

Solution

Not having the ability to delete a used metric is currently intended behavior. The reasoning is to preserve experiment history; metrics that have been used can't be deleted. If you delete a metric used or attached in an experiment, you can no longer look at the previous experiment because the metric will be gone.
